Banana Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup (75g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • Optional add-ins: chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans), chocolate chips, or dried fruit

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.

  3. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.

  4. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Stir until thoroughly combined.

  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir until incorporated.

  6. Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  7. If you're adding any optional mix-ins like nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruit, gently fold them into the batter now.

  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  10. Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  11. Slice and serve the banana bread once it has cooled slightly. Enjoy it warm or at room temperature!

This banana bread is delicious on its own or with a smear of butter. It's perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a snack any time of day.
